2018 Toyota 4Runner

The 2018 Toyota 4Runner | Your Rugged Adventure Vehicle Is Ready

Nowadays, most SUVs aren't based on truck platforms, but plenty of crossover SUVs rely on sedan-based platforms; the 2018 Toyota 4Runner is a different story. This truck-based SUV sits in the Toyota lineup just below the Sequoia, making it one of the larger Toyota offerings.

If you're looking for a rugged, reliable, and somehow still-refined SUV with power, capability, and a handful of diverse trims, the 2018 Toyota 4Runner deserves a spot at the top of your list. Check out the different trim levels, what's new for the 2018-model year, and how the 2018 Toyota 4Runner earns its reputation for off-roading domination-then bring it offline and visit the 2018 4Runner here  at Stapp Interstate Toyota in our Fredrick, CO Toyota showroom.

What's New for the 2018 Toyota 4Runner?

While there wasn't a complete 2018 redesign, the new model year brought a few gifts to the 2018 Toyota 4Runner:

  • Two new option packages are newly available-the TRD Enhancement package (17-inch matte-gray alloy wheels and a TRD front skid plate) and the Wilderness package (roof-rack crossbars, all-weather floor liners, and a cargo tray).
  • The TRD Enhancement package is available on the SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road, and TRD-Off-Road Premium trims.
  • The Wilderness package is available only on the TRD Off-Road and TRD Off-Road Premium trims.
  • There are also three new exterior colors to choose from: Super White, Midnight Black, and Calvary Blue…
  • …but they're only available on the TRD Pro trim.

Off-Roading Prowess & Capabilities:

  • Cargo Space: If you go for the optional third row, cargo space sits at 9.0 cubic-feet when all your seats are up. Without the third row, cargo space stands at 47.2 cubic-feet up to the second row, which offers a split-fold feature; cargo space up to the front seats is a roomy 89.7 cubic-feet.
  • Max Tow Payload: When properly equipped, the 2018 Toyota 4Runner can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
  • TRD Capability: Those interested in off-roading prowess will want to stick one of the three TRD designated trims, as they come with factory-installed equipment designed for off-road escapades. For example, they contain a locking rear differential, skid plates, off-road spec tires, a TRD-tuned suspension with Blistein® shocks, Toyota's Multi-Terrain Select System with Crawl Control, and Toyota's Kinetic Dynamic Suspension system.
  • Powertrain: Power comes from a beastly 4.0-liter V6 rated at 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. The standard transmission is a five-speed automatic transmission.

2018 Toyota 4Runner Trim Levels:
